Trillium, A Complete Salon, L.L.C. located at 430 E. Mitchell, Petoskey, MI was the first client to receive financing from Northern Shores Loan Fund, Inc. for business inventory needs. Northern Shores Loan Fund, Inc. supplied capital to Trillium, A Complete Salon for transition to, and addition of, a new, high quality product line; Aveda. Aveda offers eco-friendly products that distinguish themselves within the industry while providing salon training, displays, and advertising to salons within their family. This new product line will enhance Trillium’s already high quality reputation while increasing its customer base through this product usage and availability.

Trillium is a full-service beauty salon that offers creative color and cuts, manicures, pedicures, aesthetician and therapeutic body care. Ruth Krauss opened her doors in 2000 at a smaller downtown Petoskey location, and after years of growth, has moved to a larger location in downtown Petoskey that offers more space and ability to expand Trillium’s services and products.

Ruth is the sole owner of Trillium and has eight (8) full-time staff, and one (1) part-time staff. Ruth’s dedication to the beauty industry and the Petoskey community is well known throughout the area. As a recent cancer survivor, Ruth has offered her salon services at discount to local cancer patients and survivors through the “Beautiful Survivor” program she has created.

When asked why Ruth approached Northern Shores Loan Fund, Inc. for her funding needs for expansion into Aveda, Ruth said “I wanted to work with a community lender who supports small businesses in Northern Michigan that I could develop a close relationship with and continue to turn to for support as I grow and expand.”
